We did it! (Next steps)

Monster Squad,
We did it! I couldn't have done it without all of you taking a chance on the next chapter of this epic, monster series. For this campaign, we are 257 strong and raised $7,698 to bring this comic to life. I appreciate you all showing up and getting behind us, these characters, and this story.
The funds raised not only covered printing and the production of the campaign goodies, but they also cover a good chunk of the comic's production cost. What that means is that Wicked Tree Press can and will continue to make more of these books.
Once Kickstarter has charged all the cards and sent the money to us, we will be moving forward full speed ahead. You will receive a survey from Backerkit shortly that needs to be filled out before I can send out rewards. Please do that survey as soon as possible.
One of the last production things we need to do before we can order the comic is get all the names for the special thanks page. The names are collected in the survey. That's why I'll have a two week deadline on the surveys for that component. I'll send out a message when the surveys go out, so please keep an eye out for them.
If you are a comics professional or fan of comics and nominate for the Ringo Awards, please consider Mary Shelley's School for Monsters: La Llorona in the Machine, specifically for the Kids Comic or Graphic Novel category. I am very proud of this graphic novel and the whole team behind it. We would all really appreciate your vote over at the RingoAwards.com.
Again, your support is everything! Thanks for joining this misfit school!
Sending you all the positive vibes! Stay spooky!

This has been such a wonderful campaign! A kaiju-sized thank you to each and every one of you! We are so honored that you've joined the monster crew on our epic journey!
We did hit our 7K stretch goal so each backer at the physical level will receive a postcard print of the Sea Voyage illustration by Anna Wieszczyk along with all of our other stretch goals.
We've also hit the 250 backer goal so I am doing a book raffle! This means that the five backers drawn will receive a free hardcover copy of Cthulhu is Hard to Spell: Battle Royale. The gorgeous monster anthology features Anna and my first Mary Shelley's School for Monsters comics.
All backers will receive a digital copy of that short comic from the anthology!
The next time you'll hear from me it will be about completing your surveys and fulfillment. I can't wait to get this comic and all of your goodies delivered!
You all have a piece of my monster heart forever!
Jessica

Happy Easter and Monster on the Dance Floor Playlist

Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates! I have always loved this holiday and how it mixes so many disparate yet connected traditions together. To me, it is all about rebirth and renewal. Letting go of the past and moving forward with a clean slate. Besides going out into nature, gathering with loved ones, or visiting sacred spaces, I find the dance floor (or my living room) to be a fantastic place to let go of the old and renew the spirit.
So, as a special thank you from the monster crew to all of you for joining us, here is this campaign's playlist - Monster on the Dance Floor. This one comes from the heart and soul of the best reanimated creature on the team, Frank.

Hi %{member_name},
We've got an exciting update! In a few days, I'm going to do some raffles to celebrate.
Yesterday, we learned that our graphic novel, Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters: La Llorona in the Machine is a finalist in the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Book Awards in the graphic novel category. We are so thrilled to be included with the other wonderful finalists.
A little over a week ago, we had learned we were Foreword INDIES Book of the Year finalist. We were still dizzy from that news so this awesome double-whammy nearly knocked us out.
We can't thank you all enough for being part of creating this series with us. We are so excited to bring you the next chapter with the Origins #2 comic. We will be exploring complex themes around forgiveness, redemption, and revenge while taking you on a spooky adventure that spans from the Arctic to the the Sessho Seki in Japan.
Thank you so much for joining us on this journey and supporting this campaign. We promise you the next book is going to be even better.
If you want to add the hardcover La Llorona in the Machine to your order, you can if you go to manage your pledge. It's in the add-ons. Find out what is getting the independent book world so excited. For those of you who were backers for that book and have read it already, thank you so much!
If you are attending Wondercon, please stop by SP-30 (Ahh! Real Indie Authors) and mention the campaign for a cool freebie. I will only be there tomorrow and Saturday.
I've added one panel to my schedule. I will be participating in The Writer's Block Presents: Where's the Front Door? on Friday, March 29th, 4-5 PM in Room 300E. The other panelist are Rylend Grant, David Avallone, David Booher, and David Pepose.
I can't wait to bring you the next chapter of our monster odyssey. Thank you from my deepest depths for being here to support my monster obsession.
Stay spooky!
